# Competitive Analysis

ClayHog’s competitive analysis tools help you understand how you stack up against competitors in AI search visibility.

## Adding Competitors
1. Go to **Competitors**  
2. Click **Add Competitor**  
3. Enter competitor domain or brand name  
4. Save

## Competitive Metrics

### Share of Voice
Your percentage of total citations compared to all tracked competitors for a given set of prompts.

### Head-to-Head Comparison
Compare your visibility score directly with individual competitors across:
- All prompts  
- Specific categories  
- Individual AI models  
- Geographic regions

### Citation Gap Analysis
Identify prompts where:
- **You lead**: You’re cited more than competitors  
- **You’re competitive**: Similar citation rates  
- **You lag**: Competitors are cited more often  
- **Opportunity gaps**: Competitors are cited, but you’re not

## Competitive Heatmap
Visualize competitive performance across prompts with our heatmap view:
- **Green**: You’re winning  
- **Yellow**: Competitive parity  
- **Red**: Competitors are winning  
- **Gray**: No one is being cited

## Competitive Alerts
Set up alerts to notify you when:
- A competitor overtakes you on key prompts  
- You gain citations on competitive prompts  
- New competitors emerge in your space  
- Significant shifts in share of voice occur

### Finding Opportunities
Look for:
- **High-value prompts**: Where competitors have high visibility but you don’t  
- **Emerging prompts**: New queries where no one dominates yet
